Food Tasting Namin

From Left: Deep Fried Spicy Spare Ribs, Sauteed Sea Bass Fillet with Green Veggies, Batonette of Vegetables and Chicken with Mushroom

From Left: Chicken Au Gratin, King Fisher with Salsa & Pork Knucles with Black Sea Moss

Super okay yung food tasting (syempre its food and its free!). Kidding aside, we enjoyed it because the staff and chefs of Island Cove and the Banquets Manager, Ms. Sharon, were all very accommodating. We didn’t feel hesitant or reluctant asking questions about the food. We were also fortunate that we had a company, a group of school administrators were also having a food tasting for their JS Prom.
We were served (2) sets of menus and boy, in super huge portions. I was told we can bring 2 more persons along but because it’s a weekday, our best men were both busy. I won’t divulge the food we chose) The 2 separate menu sets were served to us to be tasted, frankly speaking, it was a hard decision to make. In the end, we only had to choose 1 menu or at least combine the best of both menus.
I had been on strict diet pa naman so I didn’t consume the rice; instead I opted for the viands.Ms. Sharon also finalized the details of our event like the arrangement of the presidential table, the backdrop design, the table setting, place cards, menu cards, lighting, the corkage fees, the standees/easel, crew meals, ingress and egress time, sound system inclusions and some of my special requests (which were all granted…yippee!). Its’ such a breeze to work with the Island Cove staff, I didn’t find any difficulty making special arrangements like when I said that I wouldn’t be availing of the souvenirs included in the package, Ms. Sharon immediately offered a Superior Room with breakfast for two in lieu of those souvenirs….o di ba? She even waived the LCD rental and gave extension for the 4hr use of the reception venue. And since we got an event stylist, I asked her if we can just have the flower in loose for the perusal of our stylist and as expected, it was granted.
After, discussing the details, we signed the contracts already and chose the design for our cakes. The cake we chose was inspired by Cake Artistry by Susie-Q. It’s a three-tiered stacked fondant cake in Vanilla Flavor. The upper tier is relatively thicker than the middle and the base and adorned with eyelets and a quilted finish with summer flowers on top. The middle and base of the cake are decorated with bows in our motif. We are scheduled to pay the remaining balance by March. Until then…

Trivias About Us...

Do You Know That...
-Both of us grew up with our grandparents.

-I was baptized the day he was born.

-His friend was actually the one who was courting me and he was just helping him.

-When we were in high school, I found out that their landline was actually my birthday and it was just a coincidence because he wasn’t even courting me yet.

- He was so shy that when we were classmates in third year, during Valentine’s day he borrowed my book just so he can insert the card that he wanted to give me.

-The number in their address is exactly our anniversary.

- On my 18th birthday, he wasn’t my last dance because we were still “illegal” back then and I don’t want my parents to suspect anything.

-Just to keep our communication in college, we had our parents buy us cellular phones (the analog ones way back then).

-When we were in college, I tried to surprise him by going to his school (Mapua) without his knowledge but we ended up fighting because he had a class. I decided to stage a walk-out and left for my school (DLSU) on my own. While traversing Lagusnilad, my necklace and wallet got snatched and I unfortunately need to swallow my pride and run back to him!

-We are the exact oppsites- He is the carefree typre of guy, I'm the super OC type of girl. He is shy, Im confident in everything I do. He loves Math, oh well I'd rather talk English the whole day than go insane over Math!

-We oroginally planned to get married at the early age of 23! Good thing we didn't pursue that plan! Gosh we were so young then...

Some Pre-Nup Pics

We booked Mr. Ruel Villaluna of Blessing Photography. He has got a team of talented and professional photographers. Here's a peek at some our photos for our first pre-nup pics...

On Printed Matter

We were able to get the complete set of our invitations from Printed Matter.H2b picked up yesterday at Serendra on the way to work. I’m glad that they were able to apply the revisions I gave with our previous invites sample. We were able to get mock ups of the main invite, the ento card and the map card. We just need to do some spelling corrections and complete the names of our entourage. I am satisfied with the quality of my invites, actually they exceeded our expectation especially with the design since we chose to have our own concept kasi. They were actually the ones who texted me nga saying na ready na for pick up ang mga invites and when h2b went there, ready na nga talaga.

Siguro somebody must have told them of the negative feedbacks they’ve been getting kaya there’s seem to be some improvement on their service. Well, let’s hope everyone get’s to have the same experience as we did.
