Busy Married Life...

Last Friday, after a meeting at work, I went on to buy the mattress for our bed. Eds was assigned to buy the bedframe, sadly they ran out of stock with the design that we love but it was agood thing though that we came back last Saturday to check, and good enough they have a new arrival. We went to the mall to buy some linens for our new bed and picked-up the bed frame at the same time. Eds opted that we just pick it up since it would take several days before it can be delivered and since we are nearing the blessing of our house, we cant afford to wait furthermore.

Ysabel Garden set-up

If you think our Sunday means rest day, you are completely wrong. We went to Ysabel Garden to book and reserve for the house blessing and right after, we met with a client who happens to be a fellow W@Wie! We went to have an occular inspection of their ceremony and reception venue- Royal Palms Clubhouse.

Eds went to accompany Love and I and boy, I love the place!

Oh well that's enough for now, til my next blog!

Rainy Yet Blissful

Last Saturday, we coordinated a wedding at Moon Garden, Tagaytay. Thouh it was rainy, the couple was guaranteed a blissful wedding ceremony and reception.
In our part, kahit maulan at mahirap magbuhat (all girls kami on that day), super sulit when the bride thanked us for her "dream wedding".
Here are some pics...

I have my hands full of events already as we are booked until May next year.

MIXING WORK WITH LEISURE...

We went to Moon Garden last Friday to do some ocular inspection for our September 5 wedding. The place was a hidden gem-literally. It took us 10 mins to figure out our way as the map barely helped. The garden was absolutely stunning and perfect for intimate weddings. Personally, what I loved the most was their nipa hut afloat among a marsh of water lilies...

Mini Casita...
After the occular inspection, we headed to Taal Vista Hotel to meet with yet another client and as we were waiting for them, Eds and I took some time off and enjoyed the stunning view…

Highs & Lows

...business as usual

Highs... Lovey and I went (along with my hubby Eds)to Splendido to accompany our client as she makes an occular inspection for her forthcoming wedding. It was my first time in Splendido and it was a good experience. I loved the old world rustic charm-the Tower, the red and brown bricks that lay across the pavement...the fountain (which reminds me of Mexican teleseryes)...the Tinapa Pasta (yes! super sarap)...here are the proofs...

Full Blast

Ive been having worries before on whether or not I can juggle my time being a wife, a high school teacher and an events manager. Though Eds had been ever supportive of my undertakings, I feel like I dont wanna over do it to the point that we are not seeing each other anymore. Lagi naman niyang sinasabi "alam mo naman na naiintindihan ko".
But lately, I have really been enjoying the events that we have had and now, I have my whole heart and soul to it. Its a green light for me.
Sayang ang daming queries sa amin, in fact by December alone we have 14 weddings on our calendar and they still keep on coming...So cheers to us...
More events to come...

Saturday Specials

I had my third wedding this Saturday as a wedding coordinator and as usual I was assigned to the bride (which I love doing by the way...)it was a very beautiful garden wedding at Sonya's and a very organized one (siyempre kami pa!) despite the sudden increase of wedding guests, we managed the event ever so smoothly. Eds and my brother fetch me at around 10:30pm and the three of us headed to a late foodtrip.
When I went home, I saw this box with my name on it-it was from one of my favorite wedding supplier-FOTOBREW! They sent our orders for the Fotomagnets. You see, Eds and I have been very busy that we forgot to write some THANK YOU notes. So to make up for it, we decided to have the pics of our entourage printed in fotomagnets with the word THANK YOU on it...ang cute nila...parang ayoko ipamigay...joke...and since we only had several pics for enturage, the rest of the 30pcs of magnets were all our pictures (yup, greedy noh?) hehe...along with the magnets is the personalized background that we had i our onsite photobooth which Alvin so kindly gave to us for free...

First Day @ Work

Taking breakfast before the event!

I WAS SCARED! I had my first hands on experience in wedding coordination last Saturday at sland Cove. It sent a rush of nostalgia as it brought back memories of my own wedding. I was assigned to assist the bride and enjoyed it a lot as I myself used to be one. I went through all the details to make sure that I can be of great help to my very first couple, She and Dons.

SURVIVING IT ALL

It was a lovely wedding, one that was attended by close friends and families. The wedding ceremony started on time (of course, kami pa!) and so as with the reception. With the 160 expected guests, only 141 showed up so there were tons of food left that the family decided to give us the same food as that of our guests...and the mom even gave us a tip at the end of the day.

Retiring to the arms of Eds...and a sumptous buffet breakfast!

AT THE END OF THE DAY....As for me, well good enough that we recieved a gift cheque from Ms. Sharon of Island Cove.Eds and I stayed there for a well-deserved rest and afterall, its our first monthsary on Tuesday. We were given a further Php2,000.00 GC at the fishing village which we hope to share with my mom and lola who just recently recovered from flu...

FIRST DAY IN SCHOOL Yeah right, back to school but hey, it was a pleasant one...I am quite familar already with mu Juniors class as most of them were my students last year when

LIFE AS AN EVENTS PLANNER...

I always liked intervening into the lives of other people and the best thing is that I am now making this a living. I am enjoying every minute of it actually, had several meetings already, had attended a bridal fair and on Saturday, will have my first wedding at Island Cove-katuwa!
Yesterday, we had a client meeting at Robinson's Pioneer and I enjoyed it because the soon-to-be bride is a fellow W@Wie...yey!
Anyway, their wedding is set on January 8, 2010 and they booked us for OTD package already.

Details...Intrigues and Work In Between

Details I made an early call to Paul Haute Couture to follow up on the fitting schedule of one of our clients whose wedding is on the 13th already. She should have her gown by this time but the sad thing there is there had been some delays. Oh well when I talk to the assistant, I was told to have our client visit their shop this pm. One task down and done!
Intrigues I dont know how to react to this comment made by His Eminence Cardinal Rosales. It would probably be just another article for me if I was just a newlywed but having chosen to venture into the field of Events Planning made this article a bit uneasy for me to read...here it goes

"While underscoring the sacredness of the sacrament of matrimony, a high-ranking prelate also expressed alarm on some wedding ceremonies becoming a “special event production,” thus robbing the rite of its solemnity.

Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Cardinal Rosales said he has been alarmed with the growing number of entrepreneurs now known as “event organizers” and “wedding planners” involved in the smallest details of weddings who sometimes turn the solemn rite into a “show” or “presentation.”

The Cardinal made the observation in an interview over Veritas Radio Monday morning.

He noted that couples now focus their attention to the minutest details of the preparations, invitations, the program and the songs to be sung during the reception instead of the meaning of the Sacrament of Matrimony.

“May kabanalan ang sakramento ng kasal at ang kabanalan ng kasal ay kung minsa’y nawawala sapagkat ang atensyon ng ikakasal ay naaagaw ng producer o planner at ‘di na nauunawaan ang ipinapayo ng pari,” the cardinal explained.

While worried that the sacrament of marriage is being robbed of its solemnity and spirituality, he said he is also concerned of the expenses such a big production will entail on the couple.
“Ang iba, sa oras na marinig ang gastos, sa halip na magpakasal sa simbahan ay sa huwes na nagpapakasal,” he added.
These wedding planners are considerably paid to attend to almost all the details involved in the ceremony turning a sacred rite into a presentation or show, the cardinal said.

Pre-Cana conference

Reminiscing on his early years as a young pastor, Rosales said one thing he misses these days is the chance to talk to young couples engaged to be married through the Pre-Cana Conference.During these conferences couples have the opportunity to discuss honestly with each other one’s strengths and areas of growth, the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, family life, communication, finances, sexuality and one’s role in society and in the Church.
He said he finds it enjoyable talking to engaged couples as he “gains their friendship and in fulfillment of my duties as pastor.”
The prelate said these conferences are important to the engaged couple for them to realize their responsibilities in the eyes of society and the Church. (Melo M. Acuna)

...so there...

Work in Between I am juggling my time between being a rookie (but loving!) wife, a teacher and an events planner. And its not that easy and let me just put my thoughts in here about the above amentioned comment by his Eminence. Couples believe in the sanctity of marriage that;s why we want them to be flawless and that is why we hire event planners. We want to be able to be worry free so we can savor the moment and all its sacredness without minding the chaos around. The church should be confident enough to know that couples know the new realm they are getting into-that with or without event planners, the sanctity and the sacredness of a wedding is not with all the theatrical commotion but with the unspoken vows of two hearts in love.

That being said, I am now signing off...see you tomorrow!

Another First...

Last weekend, I had my first bridal fair as wedding coordinator and how I loved it..(may client pa na nagbigay ng Red Ribbon choco mousse sa sobrang tuwa yata sakin...) and last night, I had my first client meeting along with Lovey. It brought back memories when I was still making preps for my own wedding...tears...neweiz everything went well. Took down notes for follow ups, suggested some ideas, info here and there...and oh the client gave us loot bags-literally-M&M's, Pringles, Mrs.field's and VS!
