Loving Suds

I was looking for dry cleaners...yup I haven't had my gown cleaned (bummer huh?). I asked Ms. Mia for suggestions and she advised me to either hand wash the gowns or look dry cleaners who make use of really gentle chemicals. I was in luck when I found Suds. I love their services and tomorrow, Im bringing my gowns for the much awaited dry cleaning. I called their branch this afternoon and was delighted to hear a very friendly staff on the other line. I was told that they charge Php 1,000.00 for a wedding gown (inclusive of the veil, petticoat and three bearer pillows).Lead time is isually 7-10 days.
Now isn't that a treat!

DIY Gown Preservation

Your wedding gown was only worn once and you loved it the day your picked it out and purchased it. So, once it has been worn, what do you do with it?
If you haven't recovered yet from the expenses incurred during the wedding, then these DIY gown preservation method may work for you.
Step 1
1. Bring you gown to a professional dry cleaner.
2. Purchase a box of space saver bags at your local home store.( You can buy one from Japan Home @ Php88.00 each)
2. Step 2
After purchasing your space saver bags, open the large one with the zipper provided at the top of the plastic space bag. Gently, insert your precious wedding gown, veils, pillows and pouch.
3. Step 3
Once your wedding gown and veil are zipped up inside the space saver vacuum bag, take off the top of the black hole where the vacuum will be placed on. Now, turn on your vacuum and let the suctioning begin.
4. Step 4
When it looks like all the air has been suctioned out of your space saver bag, remove the vacuum from the hole and replace with the black top to keep the air out.
Put it on a box with acetate cover for a more professional look.

For the Single Ladies

My brother's car was packed with these gowns...

Bridesmaid's Gown

Secondary Sponsor

Maid of Honor

Of Lace,Gowns and Lechon...

Eds fixing the box of accessories...

..taking some time off!

...love the lace!

My wedding accesories by Ms. Mia Barlaan

We went to ms. Mia’s shop this morning to pick up my bridal gown and my entourage’s gown and boy was it raining so hard when went there. I was with Eds and my brother. The car was loaded with gowns-13 gowns for the entourage; add to that my gown, my petticoat and my big box of accessories.
I was in awe when I saw the box containing the accessories that came with the package of my bridal gown as each were made with the same lace as my gown- from the three (3) pillows, to the pouch bag. I also loved the chord (though we have our own personalized one) since it wasn’t like the generic cords you’ll see in Divisoria and oh, even the pillows holding the arrhae was uniquely designed.
Super sulit talaga…I never thought I would be raving this much about my gown…even my mom and Eds loved it…ang linis ng gawa and even the packaging of the gowns and accessories.
Well aside from beng able to get the gowns, we also placed our orders for 2 lechon baboy at Mila’s Lechon and we have finally set the schedule for our rehearsal at the parish of St. Michael the Arcahngel.Tomorrow, Im scheduled (minus Eds kasi la pa siya complete sleep..wawa...) to visit Blessing Photography and give payments to them, then Saturday, Island Cove nman with my cousin and her fiance and Eds din.

"WOW" Factor...

Me and my entourage had our final fitting last saturday. Mine was during the morning and they had theirs at the afternoon (since I was on a friend's wedding)
La na ako masabi sa gown..it was perfect already and take note, it has a swarovsky button at the back so I can pull up the train during the reception (sa iba kasi prang hook lng dw ang nilalagay). Natuwa ako dun sa swarovsky button! hehe...
Im proud of my gown because despite the simplicity of the cut, the fabcric made it GLORIOUS, that Ive been receiving raves from my fellow W@Wies!

Gowns Are Ready for Pick Up

Flower Girl Dresses

We went to Ms. Mia's shop this morning to pay the remaining balance and get the gown for Dianne, a flower girl who wasnt abe to attend any of the fitting schedule. We asked Mia to have it readied ahead than the others as it will be brought to Pampanga where they live.
I was happy with how the flower girl dresses looked like..the colors blended well and Im pretty sure they can make use of it even after my wedding.
..that's one task down...tomorrow, we are meeting with Ms. Myra to endorse to her the parasols and buckets for the reception and flower girl flowers respectively. We'll be meeting again with Lovella come Saturday this time, along with our mothers who want to know how everything will go come wedding day.
Here's peak...

Finally...They Are Complete

It was just this afternoon that all my female entourage were able to have their fitting. My cousin Vida was the last one since they came all the way from Valenzuela. Ms. Linette, my secondary sponsor just came from her vacation in Cebu last Tuesday but was able to have her fitting right away.
The final fitting will be on Saturday. By then, I hope everyone will be complete.

Finally...I Can Smile

I’ve never been this happy in days…well there are several reasons why I have a BIG smile on my face. First, I got the package containing the ring holders we ordered online. It was shipped early this morning through Air21.
Here are the pics…

Our Ring Holders & Some Heart Tins

Second, almost all of my entourage had their first fitting already. Chelsea (FG) and Janine (BM) went today to have their first fittings. Third, I had my supposedly final fitting but still there were some adjustments to be made (just minor ones). I was really pleased with what I saw—my gown is almost finished just some more beadings on the lace scallop, the bow at the center and some adjustment with the width (too wide kasi) and the placement of the lace strap (I originally wanted a bolero but when Mia made one in gina cloth to make e decide, I felt like lummit ako tignan so I chose the lace strap na lang…then within this week, my whole entourage wil have their final fittings already. As for me, Im still waiting for Ms. Mia’s text since I was supposed to have it on Saturday, however, it’s the wedding day of my friend.

The Final Fitting

Whew...tomorrow is my final fitting schedule. After tomorrow, I wont be able to fit it again til the wedding day--RED LIGHTS FLASHING-DIET! I am scheduled to see Mia at around 6pm at her shop in Las Pinas...I'm wondering who to tag along?...

Side Kwentos Entourage First Fittings

I think both of my maids of honor gained weight, especially Jen, my cousin who just arrived from KSA last Monday. Mia asked her that she'll be adjusting both sides of her gown with half an inch but my cousin refused saying let that be her motivation to go on a diet.
Naku conservative silang lahat! di nagtanggal ng bra! Asar! Oh well I must have forgotten to tell them that they should be wearing strapless for the fittings!
About my flower girls-well Gwyneth is demure, so super shy talaga siya (little Demi Moore yun) then si Chelsea, super bibo! Super cutie pa. In fairness, she's been on a diet eersince I told her that she'll be my flower girl. Super excited talaga siya, in fact she even asked Mia kung pwede na niya iuwi yung gown and Mia was so fond of her, especially when Mia saw na yung dress and undies ni Chelsea terno na Winnie the Pooh.
So there...by the way I'll be having my final fitting on Monday. I'll be seeing the gown with all the beadworks na then its up for cleaning then for pick up na yung wedding gown. As for the entourage, well it will take some time pa as some of the members haven't had their first fitting.

3rd Fitting & Loving It!

I had my 3rd fitting and was extremely happy about the outcome. This time what I fitted was the actual silk lining with the glorious lace on it already. Though the sleeves were not yet in their actual fabric, I swear I must have gushed loudly while I was staring at myself on the mirror. I wasn’t able to take a picture (too sad) because Ms. Klem asked me to go outside the fitting room for my train and there were two couples waiting outside so they saw my gown and add to that, Eds was there too. He originally planned not to go inside Ms. Mia’s shop and wait at the ca instead but while waiting these two couples came in so I felt kinda alone ad texted him to get inside the shop.
I was looking at him while I was making my way out of the fitting room, he just glanced once and said afterwards that he fought hard and resisted the temptation of looking at the dress…
Anyway, I felt proud with my gown…it was DIVINE! I heard the two other couples’ reaction with the gown..very innocent daw ang dating and one really liked the train… I even told Ms Klem "prang ayaw ko na hubarin..."
Oh well..ill be counting the days…Mia said in a matter of 3-4 days, I will be having my final fitting! So probably by then, there will be beadworks and I’ll be seeing that cute bow already…

My "Glorious" 2nd Gown Fitting Experience...

If I was happy with how my first gown fitting, this time I was happier. I was able to prepare better this time..diet, my body form and my new shoes and Ms. Mia was there to personally see the details of my fitting.
I was able to buy this body form at SM Southmall last week and I must admit I was skeptical about it (well, because its not that expensive). Having this common notion that it may not work well if the price is cheap, but this buy proved me otherwise.
I loved the way it hugs the body and how it supports the lowerback giving me a better posture. Thus, I was way more confident when I went to Ms. Mia's place for the 2nd fitting.
The lining was not the usual gina cloth (like the one I fitted last time) but a white flowy, heavenly silk. Ms. Mia told me she made some adjustments as she felt the skirt opens too narrowly. I felt the difference with the linings bagsak and with the bodyform, the own looked glorious.
Ms. Mia also showed me the lace taht will be used for the gown...the lace design was intricate! I loved it. There's innocence yet elegance to the fabric. They made some adjustments to the shoulder capped sleeves (since I lost weight!) and with the length (not because I gained extra height but because my heels were higher).
Oh well, tomorrow I shall be having my 3rd fitting, this time with the actual silk lining and the lace on it. I shall also decide as to whether or not I will be having a bolero...
I cant wait...

Sharing my First Gown Fitting

Pictures taken from my first fitting.

Yes, I had my first gown fitting this afternoon at the shop of Ms. Mia Barlaan at Aaron Bldg. Las Pinas. We went to her shop at around 4pm and we (Jelyne, a bridesmaid) were cordially assisted by Ms. Klem, Mia's assistant. I didn't let Eds see the fitting session so I asked him to stay at the car instead(hehe).
The gown (well not yet technically) fits me well. I loved the way it hugged my body. There were some adjustments that needs to be made in the sleeves but everything is fine with the rest of the gown. I loved the train and its fluidity of movement. Grabeh ang haba ng train, it will sweep the long aisle of St. Michael! I even took some pictures of my session which was nontheless enjoyable (Ms. klem was very friendly!).

I think Eds had a glanced of the session though, when I went a bit further to the display area just as so the shot of the train can be made.Really enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to my 2nd fitting.

P.S. Im still thinking if I'll post the pics or not...
