Something Blue

H2b and I went to MOA this afternoon and we were able to buy our something blue...fluffy feather accentuated garter for the tossing the garter ceremony. We originally went there for the unity coins but the branch in MOA doesn't have any stock so we opted to buy my garter for something blue.

Here is how it looks like...

A day in the life of a Photoshop die-hard!

Vintage Photo Inspiration (weheartit.com)

I saw the post in Snippets & Ink blog site and I loved the rustic feel of the photos in one of those real weddings featured in that blog. It has this vintage feel on it so I found ways to achieve it using my fave software_Photoshop.
I learned how to use Photoshop to get more vintage looking colours - where the blacks fade to a darkblue/purple and whites fade to a creamy yellow....Yipee.Wait for my upcoming projects!
Before the vintage effect....

After ...the vintage effect.

Breaksfast from h2b

Much like the way we used to have it way back in college...oh well its a McDo breakfast...what makes it special is that its hand delivered by h2b straight after his work (without sleep pa siya)...sweet! And there's one for the entire family...

On Second Thought....

We are so happy beacuse our wedding preps are now for turnover (OTD) but there are tons of details that needs to be arranged for the turnover itself...whew...I'm kind of divided with this-in a way I know less pressure on me but on the other hand, I don't want to stop doing the preps myself. Hoepfully we'll be able to meet the requirements for the turnover such as :
  1. the final guestlist (impossible to this day, it keeps on growing)
  2. hard copy of final misal
  3. photocopy of supplier contracts
  4. contact info of the bridal ento/liturgical ento/offertory
  5. playlist
  6. reception program
  7. floor plan
  8. contact info of wedding suppliers

A Bride's Lucky Find...

Breakneck preparation. The thousand and one details. Last minute changes. The mountain of worries before that special day is enough to give you cold feet. If you want to ditch those anxieties before getting hitched, then this video is the perfect solution!
I bought mine last Decemeber and was fortunate enough because it was the last stock in Music One .When I went to other video shops, they told me it was already phased out so when I found the last stock at Music One, even though buying one was completely out of that day's plan, I grabbed it.
I'm gonna rip it first and share it to my fellow w@wies (hopefully during the weekends!)

More Than Summer Lovin'

Events enveloped in love and friendships are always memorable, and Edu and Aby’s wedding will be no different. Surrounded by friends and family who had watched the couple blossom from young high school lovers to man and wife, Edu and Aby knows they were lucky. The couple will be pulling off the ultimate in formal elegance, yet with a blend of good food, lively music and friendship that created a festive vibe and a good time had by all. And long after, Edu and Aby will set off for their honeymoon in Hong Kong & Macau.

Dainty Summer Touches

Both joyful people at heart, Edu and Aby infused summer harvest details throughout their wedding day. The Aguinaldo Hall with its mini lagoon and spiral staircase overlooking The Oceania Waterpark made an ideal setting for the reception, while the flora & fauna-dotted gardens provided a decorous backdrop. To tie together the summer harvest theme, they incorporated the sunflower, rye, wheat and lazy afternoon design elements throughout the décor, placing them on garland outside the chapel entrance, on guest place cards and upon the ballroom mantle set amongst twinkling lights and flowers. The bright summer day will be capped off by a stunning sunset over the sparkling waters of Manila Bay.

Planning Made Perfect

With both Edu and Aby growing up near and within the historic Cavite, the choice of wedding location was easy. The couple set out to craft an affair steeped in classic elegance. But while they planned a polished event, the approach nevertheless remained relaxed. Although exciting, it was never frantic or rushed, Aby & Edu made planning decisions over a cup of Moccachino and Bossa Nova music. Often times, these wedding detail discussions gave way to fond trips down memory lane, as the two traded stories of growing up together. Throughout the planning process, Edu &Aby’s focus never strayed from the true meaning of the occasion. They always managed to keep the wedding plans in perspective -- a feat which has proved elusive to so many other couples.

New Floral Inpirations

Sis Ahya (fellow W@Wie bride) sent me a text message asking me if I have a copy of Wedding Belles...to sad I don't since she found several inspiration fitting for my theme...she was very kind to send the pictures and I was very lucky to have found them too on the net.
It really does match our Bountiful Summer Harvest theme...(pics from Teddy Manuel in his photoshoot at Sonia's for Wedding Belles Magazine)

Island Cove's New Website

Whoaah!
Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park
Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park is located in the hostoric town of Kawit, Cavite, Philippines. For those not familiar with the place, Kawit, Cavite is where the Philippine Independence was declared and where the first official Philippine Flag was hoisted on 12 June 1898.
Island Cove is a perfect venue for family weekend escape, company activities like team-building and/or company summer outing. This is also a perfect venue for weddings, debuts and similar celebrations.

Our wedding bandquet and reception wll be held in island Cove. I have always been a fan of this venue eversince my first visit. What's more exciting (aside from the fact that they are guest-friendly)is the fact that they have launched their new website--visit http://islandcovephil.com/

Reception Venue: Island Cove Hotel & Leisure Park

Island Cove is fast becoming a popular venue for weddings. The resort now offers three wedding packages that come in various themes. One of the packages even features a Muslim theme, which comes with elaborate decor, such as a colorful vinta backdrop.
Having a wedding reception on the Island does seem practical. The resort has special function rooms that float on water. One is airconditioned while the others are open and breezy. There are many other venues to hold the reception—perhaps by the poolside, the garden or one of the resort’s restaurants. The setting makes it easier for the newlyweds—they can just stay put after the reception.
Power Peso: Php 76,000.00 (100pax)
Php 520.00/pax over 100

Inclusions: Buffet lunch/dinner with 1 round drinks, Use of air-conditioned function hall for 4hrs w/ sound system, Floral centerpiece for presidential table, Floral/cake centerpiece for guests table, 3 layered wedding cake, Wedding Cake table w/ floral arrangements, One bottle of wine for toasting, Personalized menu cards for presidential table, Wedding favors, Chocolate fountain, Room accommodation for two (2) persons and One hour massage for two (2).

Our Flr. Plan Layout

Screenshot of our floor plan.
This is one of my greatest finds eversince I began my wedding planning. This software lets you create a flr. plan as it generates the guest lists (with adult and child count) as well, the total guest number along with the RSVP info, table where they are to be seated and contact info.

More Than Weddings: The Life Ever After

Marriage 101

It’s not just the wedding, after all, it’s a one day event, what’s more important and I think what most of us think less is the life that awaits us after the wedding. I did some readings (yes!) and found a couple of interesting information about this most celebrated sacrament.

What is Marriage?

Marriage is a covenant by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of love for the whole life.

Why is Marriage a sacrament?

Marriage is a sacrament because the covenant between the husband and wife signifies the union of Christ and the Church.

Who are the ministers of Marriage?

The ministers of the sacrament of marriage are the spouses. However, the priest is the minister of the Holy Mass during which the sacrament takes place.

What is the matter of Marriage?

The matter of the sacrament of marriage is the exchange of consent.

What are the 2 essential ends of marriage?

The 2 essential ends of marriage are: 1. the good of the spouses; 2. the pro creation and education of the children.

What are the two effects of the Sacrament of Marriage?

1. Perpetual and exclusive bond between the spouses; 2. The sacramental grace of marriage.

What are the three properties of marriage?

1. Unity
“And a man shall his father and mother and be joined with his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” (Matt 19:5)

2. Indissolubility
“What God has put together, let no man put asunder.”

3. Openness to life.
“Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.” (Gen 1:28)

Catholic Wedding Terms:

Church: St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel.

This used to be the longest church in Cavite.

The Parish of St. Michael, the Archangel was created as a separate parish from Kawit on January 18, 1792 by virtue of the Royal Cedula issued by Ferdinand VI, King of Spain, to the Spanish Governor General in the Philippines, Luis Perez Dasmariñas. Record shows that the chapel in Bacoor, that would later become the Parish of St. Michael, the Archangel, was established in 1669 where it was constructed by bamboos, straws, and nipa. The Parish of St. Michael, the Archangel has within her parochial jurisdiction encompassing the whole town of Bacoor.

The patron image, depicting a triumphant St. Michael, the Archangel, was a gift from the King of Spain with its intricately designed silver and wooden carozza surrounded by small replicas of the seven Archangels. The image of St. Michael, the Archangel is also vested with a silver armor plate and accessories embellished with precious stones.During the term of Rev. Fr. Mariano Gomes from 1824 to 1872, the structure of the church was changed to its present architecture of adobe and tegula. Unequipped with modern-day concrete cement mix, thousand of duck egg whites were utilized to bond the huge boulders of adobe. After the term of Fr. Gomes, as a result of his martyrdom, the parish was given under the care of the Augustinian Recollects.

The parish church of St. Michael, the Archangel had its own share of withstanding the test of time. It has endured a lot of earthquakes and calamities, fire reduced it to ashes, but the effects of the Filipino-Spanish war reduced into half what was known before as the longest church in Cavite. Today, the parish Church stood majestically firm on the same ground where it was erected 256 years ago.

Raves: Printed Matter

I had my invitations by Printed Matter. Sir Kerwin was my designer. First payment was the fee for customization. Our next payment was 50% of total cost and we paid the rest when we picked up the invites. We had to revsions for the design and only one revision for the layout. Its true that you have to proofread everything before you give them the go signal. We meet at their Serendra office each time.
Their work is on time, actually ahead of time and in my case, Sir Kerwin always attends to our queries.I'm not sure about the hard invitations though.Last Thursday ako angbigay ng go signal for final printing then saturday, the invites were ready for pick up already. Sir Kerwin even asked us to pick it up during the bridal fair para daw we can join the raffle pa.
